  I wonder if Watchtower issued a "worldwide cease and desist" order to stop the proliferation of mass distribution of their copyrighted publications, documents, and other files, if it would have any effect on the ExJW community who largely engages in the practice?

  Weldon Howze dies in California

  many of us knew or knew of weldon howze.

  weldon was a good friend for more than 40 years, even after my fade from the dubs.

  this came to my in box today.. to all of weldons friends and family,.

  Weldon was removed as an elder in the late eighties because he had an "Independant" spirit, disregarding talk outlines and service meeting agendas laid out in the KMs. He was also a closet homosexual who talked intimately with young brothers struggling with the same "maladiction". But he was loved by many regardless all around the globe. What is interesting about Weldon is that you will find many who attest to his guidance strengthening their allegiance to "Jehovah" and just as many who declare he helped them walk away from the Watchtower.

  A JW celebrity that was dealt with heavy handedly by even the top brass in Brooklyn. Probably no better example of severe cognitive dissonance that crippled his critical thinking and prevented him from walking away from what he must have known deep down was a cult.

  All schools closed in L.A. county today, a bomb threat.

  Lots of school buses still traveling around the city(heading back to the bus yard) totally empty. It's a bit eerie. Kids that are stranded at school are allowed to ride the Metro for free until noon.

  How about a CAPCHA test for ANY new post?

  maybe it would be possible to turn the capcha test off for a user after they have "survived" ten posts without being thrown into gehenna?.

  there must be some days it seems like a thankless pain-in-the-ass, but you are rendering a truly life-saving service.. love ya, dude, (and dude-harad and all the little dudettes) in an appropriate and totally manly way!.

  Elders who dislike other congregation elders

  my congregation had four elders who had different personalities.you would see a little friction among themselves.. #1 self-righteous and the 800 pound gorilla.he would push everyone around in the congregation and even some fellow elders.. # 2 elder was around 80 years old and looked like he stuck around a little too long.it looked like he was around because he never decided to give up the position.his duty became very light as he aged.. # 3 elder was in his early 30's and newly elected.he made no waves and whatever was asked of him in the congregation he would do.easy to push around like a little puppy dog.. #4 elder (who everyone liked ) was easy to get along with and had a family who everyone loved.

  he didn't like elder # 1. they had a power struggle amongst each other which everyone observed while the meetings were in session.. here are 2 small verbal fights that i observed while the congregation meetings were in session:.

  while elder # 1 was giving a talk ( heavy rain storms are brewing outside with loud thunder and lightning ) the microphones and lights are knocked out.we lost all power and could barely see.

  Sounds entertaining. I would have told Elder 1 to step away from the cheeseburger, Elder 2 to retire, Elder 3 to grow a pair, and Elder 4 to start his own religion.
